Tonight I stumbled upon a picture that had a quote from Owl City's song "Vanilla Twilight", one thing led to another, and next thing I knew I was listening to Owl City on Myspace. I can honestly say that I have never heard a song by Owl City that I didn't like, so tonight I went and bought two of Owl City CDs on Itunes. It wasn't until I laid down in bed and started listening to my new purchases that I finally realized why I love this band so much (and yes, I am aware that it's not really a band, but a guy and his computer- regardless, he's talented). Fireflies came out around the same time Josh and I started dating, and shortly after Josh and I started dating I began a brief stage where I listened to Owl City a lot, partially because Alli got me addicted, so now, over half a year later, listening to Owl City reminds me of Josh and everything I love about my life now.
This time last year I was with Stephen, only had a handful of friends at Winthrop- the majority who never returned for their second year, my parents were preparing to move to New York, and life was just a tad bit miserable. Now, I am getting ready to move into an apartment with three of my closest friends, I'm in a wonderful relationship with a wonderful guy, I have an ever expanding group of friends- all of who love and accept me for who I am, and life is better than it ever has been.
And every time I listen to Owl City, I'm reminded of everything that makes my life amazing. No wonder I love these sweet, electronic melodies. :)
Oh! And 9 days until I return to the amazing place that I now proudly call home- Rock Hill, South Carolina.
